In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

  • Are the rules different in the UK than in The Netherlands? In the Netherlands, the person hiding can win, only if he safely makes it to the spot where the searcher was counting. so if he gets spotted, it's a race to the starting point, and avoid being tagged by the person counting. So I thought Joe Lycett, was going for a win, when he sprinted towards the caravan.

      Kit MKit M19 dager siden
    • Growing up we called that "block" (not sure why - grew up in Yorkshire, would be interesting to see other people's names for it). Combo of hide & seek and tag, either one seeker or two opposing teams, and you've got to hide from the seeker(s) and try to sneak up on the starting spot. Or get spotted by the seekers and have to sprint for the starting spot. There's usually some sort of landmark you have to touch and shout "Block!" to have won. Best played in big wide open spaces - fond memories of playing it at Brimham Rocks (google it, amazing place to run around and climb as a kid) and trying to get the drop on the seekers by going over the rocks rather than around.

EDIT I did a very quick search and found a Victorian horror story The Mistletoe Bride, which isn't the same as, but is very similar to the story I know. Both feature a game of hide and seek in a big country house. In one the girl who died after becoming locked in a trunk was a new bride, in the other she was a servant. The stories are similar to accounts of children dying after becoming trapped in old discarded self locking fridges.
