In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

  • Joe has the best personality! He should come back on the show one more time.

  • How can you take away that potato throw. Okay, he took 2 cm extra. Big deal, it was still one of the greatest potato throws I have ever seen in my life.

  • Joe looks like the son of a billionaire who isn't too much into the materialistic/business stuff. He only wears that 1 brown suit that looks like it's worth a dollar but is actually worth $23,000 because his personal 24/hr tailor made it for him.

  • This video isn't showing the absolutely heart-wrenching brutality of how Greg and Alex setup Joe after the potato task. It doesn't show him on his knees begging to be redeemed. And it doesn't show the palpable sense of guilt on Greg and Alex's faces when they realise "shit, we've taken it too far".

  • I mean, the English have committed some pretty heinous atrocities in their history but disallowing that throw has to be a new low. To rob a bloke of that after he's clearly been down on his luck and hasn't seen a modern convenience since the late 70's, come on.

  • I may not have granted Joe the win in the potato throw either, BUT, based on the reasoning of the contestant to camera left, I must counter-argue. Joe's weight was on his back leg, as well as his throwing arm which he arced from his elbow. If you pull his forward foot back a couple centimeters, the potato still would have gone in.
